Bethesda, MD – Emergency crews raced to the scene of a motor vehicle collision Friday after reports of a person trapped inside a wrecked car.
Rescue Squad 741 and Truck 706 responded and used specialized equipment to cut through the roof of the vehicle to reach the occupant, according to the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad.
Once freed, the patient was evaluated by paramedics and transported by Medic 726 to a nearby hospital. Officials said the injuries were not life-threatening.
The crash temporarily tied up traffic in the area as fire and rescue personnel worked the scene.
