DC man arrested after threatening victim in failed 7th Street robbery attempt

Washington, DC – A 23-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly trying to rob someone at gunpoint Monday morning in Northwest before being quickly apprehended by police.

Around 10:12 a.m. on September 15, the suspect confronted a victim in the 1800 block of 7th Street NW, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Investigators say he tried to take the victim’s property but was unsuccessful. During the confrontation, the suspect claimed he had a firearm and threatened to shoot.

Officers responded to the scene and arrested the suspect, identified as Adam Demba of Northwest DC. He has been charged with attempted robbery and threats to do bodily harm.

Police did not confirm whether a gun was recovered. No injuries were reported in the incident.

The case remains under investigation.
