31-year-old fatally shot on busy Baltimore street

Man gunned down on West North Avenue dies a day later as police hunt shooter

BALTIMORE, MD – A 31-year-old man has died after being shot multiple times on a busy West Baltimore street, and police are asking for the public’s help in identifying those responsible for the fatal attack.

On September 26 at approximately 4:16 p.m., Western District patrol officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of West North Avenue following reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found Virgil Holland suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Holland was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries the following day, September 27.

No suspects have been publicly identified, and investigators have not released information on a possible motive.
