Latrobe man charged after overnight break-in and threats at Unity Township care home
UNITY TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A 35-year-old Latrobe man has been charged after police said he entered a personal care home overnight and threatened a worker early Wednesday morning.
Ryan Hoover faces charges of burglary, criminal trespass, terroristic threats, and loitering and prowling at nighttime, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Overnight incident
Police said a lone employee at Kelly’s Personal Care Home called 911 after encountering an intruder inside the facility. The worker told troopers she did not lock the doors overnight in case of emergencies involving residents or first responders.
She reported hearing footsteps and found a man inside who did not belong there. Police said the suspect made violent threats before leaving the building on foot, yelling as he departed.
Identification and arrest
Troopers searching the area found an abandoned vehicle nearby and recovered a receipt inside bearing Hoover’s name. The victim later identified Hoover from a photo lineup.
He was arraigned before Magisterial Judge Tamara Mahady and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
All charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
