WASHINGTON, DC — A late-night robbery on Queens Chapel Road has police searching for a missing gold chain and the suspect who tore it from a victim’s neck and fled under cover of darkness.

The incident happened around 9:44 p.m. on Monday, September 29, in the 2100 block of Queens Chapel Road NE. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the victim was approached and robbed of the chain before the assailant took off.

Officials released a photo of the stolen gold chain in hopes that someone may recognize it and provide leads. The department is asking the public not to intervene, but to come forward with any tips that might help locate the suspect or recover the stolen property.
