Man charged with murder in fatal Hyden Court shooting in South Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD – A 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder following a deadly shooting last week in Baltimore’s Southern District.

Gerard Morris was taken into custody shortly after the October 23 homicide of 42-year-old Eugene Henry, who was found with gunshot wounds in the 4100 block of Hyden Court just after 10:26 a.m.

Officers arrested Morris later that same day in the 800 block of Glade Court. He was transported to the Central Booking Intake Center and formally charged with first-degree murder and multiple handgun violations.

Henry was rushed to a nearby hospital after the shooting but was pronounced dead by medical personnel. Police have not publicly discussed a motive, nor have they said if the suspect and victim knew each other.

The case remains under investigation by homicide detectives with the Baltimore Police Department.
