Man struck with bottle on K Street NW police seek bicycling suspect
Washington, DC — Tuesday early morning a man refused a demand for money on the 500 block of K Street NW and was struck with a glass bottle by a suspect who fled the scene on a bicycle, leaving officers searching surveillance footage for identification.
At approximately 3:47 a.m., the victim was approached by an individual who asked for money; when the victim declined, the suspect assaulted him with a glass bottle and rode away on a bicycle. The victim received treatment on scene for minor injuries and did not require hospital transport, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers reviewed nearby surveillance cameras and recovered video showing the suspect riding away after the assault. Police released the footage stills and are asking the public to help identify the person pictured. No further suspect description was provided in the department’s notice.
