iPhone swiped from baby cart inside Newark Burlington store as police seek suspect
NEWARK, NJ — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of stealing an iPhone from a woman’s baby cart while she shopped at a Burlington clothing store on Monday, November 3.
The theft occurred around 11:20 a.m. in the 700 block of Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Boulevard. According to investigators, surveillance footage shows the victim dropping an item and bending down to retrieve it. While her attention was diverted, the suspect allegedly took the phone from her baby cart and walked off.
The suspect is described as a short, light-skinned Hispanic male wearing a black jacket with a blue hood.

The Newark Department of Public Safety has released an image of the suspect and is urging anyone who can identify him to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
