Man arrested in deadly 14th Street stabbing that killed DC resident
Washington, DC – A 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred during a violent altercation in Northwest Washington in mid-September.
In the early morning hours of Saturday, September 13, around 3:48 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District responded to the 2000 block of 14th Street NW following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was still breathing but unconscious.
DC Fire and EMS rushed the victim to an area hospital, but despite all lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. He was later identified as 34-year-old Jermaine Foster Jr., a resident of Northwest DC.
According to investigators, the stabbing unfolded during a large physical altercation. Three other individuals sustained minor injuries and arrived at a local hospital on their own.
On Thursday, November 20, Shawn Lamar Conway, of Oxon Hill, Maryland, was apprehended by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force in Suitland, Maryland. He was transported to MPD’s Homicide Branch and formally charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed, under a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant.
The case remains under active investigation.
