Ocean County player hits $400K top prize in Crossword Bonanza scratch-off
Barnegat, NJ – A Crossword Bonanza scratch-off ticket sold at a Wawa in Barnegat made an Ocean County player $400,000 richer last week, marking the second top prize claimed in the latest edition of the $20 game.
The winning ticket was purchased at Wawa #441, located at 550 North Main Street, and was reported as sold on Wednesday, November 26, according to the New Jersey Lottery. It is the second of three $400,000 top prizes awarded in the most recent version of Crossword Bonanza (Game No. 01935), which launched August 21.
In a separate win, a Hudson County player claimed a $250,000 top prize in the newest $250,000 Crossword scratch-off game (Game No. 01933), released on August 27. The $10 ticket is one of six top prizes available, with four still remaining.
Another version of the Crossword Bonanza game (Game No. 01905), released March 21, also has two top prizes left unclaimed, offering additional chances at the top-tier reward.
These wins come amid a string of scratch-off victories across New Jersey in recent months, as high-value games continue to deliver big prizes in both urban and suburban communities.
The New Jersey Lottery has contributed nearly $34.7 billion to the state since its launch in 1970. Under a 30-year agreement enacted in 2017, profits now help fund public employee pension systems.
