OWINGS, MD – The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying the thieves responsible for stealing approximately 200 gallons of diesel fuel and several pieces of electronic equipment from a property on Meadow Run Lane.
According to investigators, the theft occurred around 1 a.m. on December 8, when unknown suspects siphoned fuel from multiple pickup trucks parked on the property. Deputies said the suspects also broke the lock on a trailer and took a box containing electronics of unknown value.
The suspect vehicle was described as a dark-colored, early 2000s Ford dually pickup truck with what appeared to be fuel canisters or toolboxes mounted along the sides of the truck bed.
Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage from the area and believe the suspects may have used the truck to transport the stolen fuel and equipment.
Anyone with information about the theft or the vehicle involved is urged to contact the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office or submit a tip through the department’s Facebook page.
