Trio arrested in back-to-back DC vehicle theft and unauthorized use cases
Washington, DC – Three people were arrested over a five-day span in connection with separate stolen vehicle and unauthorized use incidents across the District, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The arrests began on Friday, December 19, when Jamal Jackson, 39, who has no fixed address, was taken into custody for Theft One (Stolen Auto) in the 2700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE.
Two days later, on Sunday, December 21, police arrested Derrik Montgomery, 39, of Northeast DC, for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. That offense occurred in the 3400 block of 25th Street SE.
The third arrest happened on Wednesday, December 24, when Tashima Barnes, 42, of Northwest DC, was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle in the 3900 block of Kansas Avenue NW.
The Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate vehicle-related crimes amid ongoing efforts to curb auto theft across all quadrants of the city.
