BRONX, N.Y. – A shooting in the Bronx Saturday evening left one teenage boy dead and another injured, police said.
Officers responded around 6:25 p.m. to a 911 call reporting shots fired inside 1219 Adee Avenue, within the 49th Precinct. When they arrived, officers found an unidentified male with a gunshot wound to the chest.
A second victim, a 14-year-old boy, was discovered moments later outside 2909 Laconia Avenue, also within the 49th Precinct, suffering from a gunshot wound to his left arm.
Emergency medical services transported the first victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead. Police officers rushed the 14-year-old to the same hospital in a marked patrol car. He was listed in stable condition.
Investigators have not released the name of the deceased pending notification of his family. As of late Saturday night, no arrests had been made, and the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
