Dangerous wanted suspect in stolen vehicle chase crashes; captured by police

BENSALEM, PA – A man accused of leading police on a daylong string of crashes and pursuits across multiple jurisdictions was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after colliding with another vehicle in Bensalem, ending a chaotic seven-hour spree.

Authorities said the ordeal began around 8:30 a.m. when Bensalem police were alerted by Bristol Township officers about a stolen U-Haul truck that had struck a civilian motorist before fleeing onto Interstate 95. The driver was identified as 38-year-old Ryan Laskowski of Bristol Township, and an arrest warrant was issued charging him with felony fleeing and eluding, theft of a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment, and related offenses.

Throughout the day, Laskowski allegedly continued to drive recklessly through Lower Bucks County, striking multiple civilian vehicles and a Pennsylvania State Police patrol car. Police said he later rammed a Bensalem patrol unit, a fence, and a fire hydrant near the ACME store on Bristol Road during another pursuit.

Officers finally arrested Laskowski around 3:30 p.m. near Bristol Road and Grandview Avenue after he crashed into yet another vehicle. Both Laskowski and the occupants of the other car suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. Police said Laskowski remains under guard pending formal arraignment on the Bristol Township warrant, with additional charges expected from Bensalem and state police.

Authorities credited the cooperation between Bensalem Police, Pennsylvania State Police, and Bristol Township Police for safely ending the pursuit of a driver who, according to investigators, endangered motorists across the region for much of the day.
