Armed suspect robs Claymont convenience store in early morning heist
CLAYMONT, DE – A masked man dressed in black robbed a convenience store along Philadelphia Pike in the early hours of Tuesday morning, fleeing with stolen cash and leaving investigators searching for answers.
The robbery happened around 2:40 a.m. at the Dash In located at 3700 Philadelphia Pike. According to Delaware State Police, a man entered the store and gave the impression that he was armed. He ordered the employee to open the register, took an undisclosed amount of cash, and then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported.
Surveillance footage and witness statements indicate the suspect wore all black, including a face mask and gloves. Police have not confirmed whether a weapon was displayed, only that the suspect acted as if he was armed.
The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit is actively investigating the incident. Detectives are urging anyone with information about the robbery to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, and police have not made any arrests.
Dash In remained open following the incident, and no other customers were involved at the time of the robbery.
