NEWINGTON, CT – A Newington resident matched all five numbers in Monday night’s CASH5 drawing, scoring a $100,000 top prize with a ticket purchased at Newington Food Land.
The Connecticut Lottery confirmed the winning ticket was sold at the neighborhood store located in Newington. The lucky player successfully picked all five numbers drawn on January 12, securing the game’s maximum payout for a standard wager.
CASH5, one of the state’s most popular draw games, offers nightly drawings and a top prize of $100,000 for players who match all five numbers. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 324,632.
The winner has already come forward to claim the prize, according to lottery officials. Under state regulations, prizes of $50,000 or more must be claimed in person at the Connecticut Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill. The identity of the winner has not yet been released.
