Newark woman wins $25K a year for life on Lucky for Life ticket bought in Heath
NEWARK, OH – A Newark resident is now guaranteed a $25,000 annual payday for the next two decades after winning the second-tier Lucky for Life prize in last month’s drawing.
The woman matched all five white balls drawn—8, 23, 32, 33, and 34—in the December 14 drawing, narrowly missing the Lucky Ball of 15, which would have earned her the game’s top prize of $1,000 a day for life. Still, her ticket secured the second-tier prize: $25,000 a year for life.
She opted for annual payments and will receive $18,522.64 each year after mandatory 26.75% federal and state tax withholding. The payout is guaranteed for a minimum of 20 years.
The winning ticket was purchased at Discount Tobacco Shop, located at 1002-B Hebron Road in Heath. That retailer may be eligible for a bonus for selling a winning ticket.
Lucky for Life is a $2 multi-state draw game available in Ohio and other participating states. The game offers two lifetime prize tiers, with daily drawings held at 10:35 p.m. Eastern Time. The odds of winning the second-tier prize are 1 in 1,813,028.
