Columbus, OH – A brazen morning break-in at a North Side business ended quickly after a familiar suspect was caught with stolen merchandise just minutes after forcing his way inside.

The burglary occurred around 9:58 a.m. Monday in the 3800 block of Morse Road, when a man forced open the front doors of a business just before it was scheduled to open. Once inside, investigators said the suspect selected merchandise valued at more than $1,600 and left without paying.

Officers responding to the area apprehended the suspect shortly after the break-in. He was identified as Victor Rivera and was found in possession of the stolen merchandise.

Police said the investigation revealed Rivera is a repeat offender who has targeted the same location multiple times in the past. He was charged with burglary in connection with the incident.
