Chevy Chase Powerball ticket hits $50000 third prize

Chevy Chase, MD – A routine stop at a Montgomery County grocery store turned into a $50,000 win after a Powerball ticket purchased in Chevy Chase matched enough numbers in Monday night’s drawing to secure a third-tier prize.

Maryland Lottery officials said the winning ticket was sold at the Giant Food store located at 8500 Connecticut Avenue. The ticket matched four of the five white balls plus the red Powerball in the Feb. 9 drawing.

The winning numbers were 6, 19, 22, 28, 48, with a Powerball of 24. Matching that combination qualified the ticket for the $50,000 prize.

Powerball drawings are held three times a week, with tickets sold across most of the United States and U.S. territories. The game includes multiple prize tiers ranging from smaller payouts to the jackpot.
