Lost dogs spark search for owners in Utica neighborhoods

UTICA, NY – Two dogs are now in the care of city officials after being picked up on separate streets over the past two days, prompting a public request to help reunite them with their owners.

The City of Utica Police Department said a brown and white pit bull was located near 33 Scott St. The dog was found without an owner present and was secured safely.

A second dog, described as a black and tan mixed breed, was discovered near the intersection of Barton Avenue and Genesee Street. That dog was also taken in after no owner could be located in the immediate area.
