PLAINFIELD, NJ – The search for 19-year-old Connor Oldfield came to a tragic end Thursday night when authorities discovered his body in the Green Brook near the Roosevelt Avenue bridge, nearly four weeks after he was reported missing.
Oldfield had last been seen on January 24 wearing a gray zip-up jacket and yellow, black, and gray camouflage pants. The Plainfield Police Department confirmed that the young man’s body was recovered late Thursday in a joint operation with local emergency responders. Officials said there were no immediate signs of foul play, though the cause of death remains under investigation.
City officials and police expressed deep sorrow over the discovery, describing the loss as one that has shaken the entire Plainfield community. Mayor Adrian O. Mapp and Police Director James T.
