DC domestic shooting leaves suspect dead after two wounded in Southeast
Washington, DC — A domestic-related shooting in Southeast D.C. ended with two people hospitalized and a suspect dead after he opened fire and then turned the gun on himself, according to police.
The incident unfolded around 6:57 p.m. Tuesday in the 2000 block of Mount View Place Southeast, where officers found an adult man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were conscious and breathing when first responders arrived and were transported to local hospitals with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
While canvassing the area, officers located a second scene in the 1300 block of Morris Road Southeast, where a third individual was found with a gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators identified the deceased as 25-year-old Brandon Orland Blanco Viloria of Seattle, Washington. Preliminary findings indicate he was the suspect, arriving at the initial location, shooting the two victims, and then shooting himself. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
The case is being handled by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch as the investigation continues.
