Dead woman found in car after early morning call for help
Franklin Township, NJ — A man who called police to report injuries at a hotel is now charged with murder after officers discovered a woman dead inside a वाहन parked outside.
The incident unfolded around 6:00 a.m. Saturday at a hotel on Davidson Avenue, where Keith Demery, 54, of Ellenwood, Georgia, requested police assistance, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
Responding officers met Demery at the scene, where he directed them to a vehicle in the rear parking lot. Inside, officers found an unresponsive woman in the front passenger seat. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Demery was detained and taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries before being released into police custody.
Following an investigation involving local police, county detectives, and medical examiners, Demery was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He is being held at the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim as they await confirmation from the medical examiner, who will also determine the cause and manner of death.
