Violent clash erupts on Manhattan subway train as rider stabbed during early morning attack
MANHATTAN, NY — A verbal dispute aboard a southbound subway train turned violent when a man was punched repeatedly and stabbed during an early morning attack at a Manhattan station, police said.
The assault happened Thursday, April 30, around 4:10 a.m. aboard a southbound “A” train at the 190 Street subway station, according to NYPD Crime Stoppers.
Investigators said a 35-year-old man was riding the train when an unidentified suspect began arguing with him.
The confrontation quickly escalated inside the subway car.
Police said the suspect punched the victim multiple times in the face before stabbing him in the left forearm with an unknown sharp object.
The attacker fled the scene before officers arrived.
Authorities have not released a description of the suspect as detectives continue searching for the person responsible.
The victim’s condition has not been publicly released.
