Man found shot in Baltimore street as overnight gunfire rattles downtown area

Victim hospitalized after police discover wounded man on South Broadway

BALTIMORE, Md. — A man was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the early morning hours Thursday after police responded to reports of a shooting in a busy section of Baltimore.

Baltimore Police said Central District patrol officers were called around 2:37 a.m. to the 200 block of South Broadway for a reported shooting victim.

When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Investigators said the man’s injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

No information about a suspect or a possible motive was immediately released.

Central District detectives have taken over the investigation and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
