One lucky ticket sold in downtown Baltimore is worth $20K after coming just one number short of the massive Mega Millions jackpot.
BALTIMORE, Md. — A Mega Millions player who bought a ticket at a Baltimore 7-Eleven is holding a winning ticket worth $20,000 after narrowly missing the game’s soaring jackpot.
The Maryland Lottery announced that the winning ticket for Tuesday night’s drawing was sold at the 7-Eleven located at 38 South Paca Street in Baltimore City.
The ticket matched four of the first five white balls and the Mega Ball in the June 23 drawing. The winning numbers were 48, 51, 60, 63 and 66, with a Mega Ball of 20.
The prize started at $10,000, but an automatic X2 multiplier doubled the payout to $20,000.
Lottery officials said the Baltimore ticket is the sixth $20K third-tier Mega Millions winner sold in Maryland this month.
No one matched all six numbers to claim the jackpot, which has been rolling since it was last won on March 10.
As a result, Friday night’s Mega Millions jackpot has climbed to an estimated annuity value of $489 million, with a cash option of $220.9 million.
Maryland Lottery officials encourage players to sign the backs of their tickets and keep them in a safe place. Mega Millions tickets expire 182 days after the drawing date.
