WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 27-year-old Maryland man died after he was found shot in an alley in Northeast DC, prompting a homicide investigation, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Officers responded at approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 11, to the 4000 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast, for a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in an alleyway.

DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to a local hospital, where he died despite life-saving efforts.

Police identified the victim as 27-year-old Aaron Brown of Laurel, Maryland.

No arrests have been announced, and investigators have not released information about a possible suspect or motive.
