Police say surveillance video led to multiple criminal charges
BENSALEM, Pa. — A school bus aide has been arrested after police said surveillance video showed him inappropriately touching a 14-year-old special needs student during multiple bus rides to a Bensalem High School extended school year program.
The investigation began Thursday after the student’s parents contacted the Bensalem Township Police Department to report an incident involving their daughter that had occurred earlier that day.
According to police, investigators determined that 62-year-old Ali Khan, of Bensalem Township, allegedly inappropriately touched the student on multiple occasions on July 29 and July 30 while the school bus was traveling to the school.

Police said surveillance footage from inside the bus showed Khan directing the student to a specific seat before leaning across her while fastening her seat belt. Investigators allege the video then showed Khan repeatedly touching the student’s leg and inner thigh. According to police, the student attempted to move away and close her legs, but Khan allegedly continued touching her.
Investigators also allege the video showed Khan holding a cellphone that appeared to be recording video or taking photographs of the student. Police further allege the footage showed Khan placing his hand inside his pants.
Khan was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors and two counts of indecent assault.
He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Gary Gambardella, who set bail at 10% of $500,000. Khan was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
“The safety and well-being of our students continues to be the top priority of both the Bensalem Township Police Department and the Bensalem School District,” police said, adding that they also thanked the victim for coming forward and the school district for its assistance during the investigation.
Police said the investigation remains active. Anyone with information related to Khan or the case is asked to contact Detective Yasin at (215) 633-3726.
The charges are allegations. Khan is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
