Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a man Monday evening in the city’s 19th District.
Officers responded at approximately 5:18 p.m. to reports of a shooting near the intersection of North 54th Street and Arlington Street, where they found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds across his body.
Responding officers transported the victim to Lankenau Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:36 p.m.
Investigation remains active
The crime scene remained secured Monday evening as homicide detectives processed evidence and canvassed the area for additional information.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity, and investigators have not announced any arrests or identified a possible motive in the shooting.
The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.
