22-year-old faces felony stalking charge after girl reported repeated unwanted contact across DC
WASHINGTON, DC – A 22-year-old DC man has been arrested on a felony stalking charge after a teenage girl reported that he repeatedly contacted her against her wishes, showed up uninvited at her home and other locations, and assaulted her following an encounter at an event, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
MPD identified the man as Daniel Alexi Castillo of Northeast DC.
Castillo was arrested Friday, Aug. 7, on a DC Superior Court warrant and charged with felony stalking and simple assault.
The case stems from events the teenage girl reported to police on June 5.
According to MPD, Castillo attended an event the girl was working at in Northeast DC.
When the event ended, police allege Castillo insisted on walking her home and putting his phone number into her phone.
Later that day, between 4 p.m. and 7:56 p.m., Castillo allegedly appeared uninvited at the teenager’s home and at other locations around DC on more than one occasion.
Police said he made unwanted contact with the girl multiple times during that period.
Investigators also allege Castillo repeatedly called and texted the teenager against her wishes.
MPD described the case as involving stalking and assault but did not provide additional details about the alleged assault or disclose the teenager’s age.
Castillo was arrested approximately two months after the girl initially reported the alleged conduct.
The charges are accusations, and Castillo is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
