Bench warrant was issued one day before 28-year-old was taken into custody
CUMBERLAND, MD – A littering case took a more serious turn for a 28-year-old Cumberland woman after authorities say she failed to appear in court Wednesday, resulting in a bench warrant, an arrest the following day and detention without bond.
Cumberland Police identified the woman as Sydni Rene’ Radcliffe.
The Allegany County Circuit Court issued an active bench warrant Wednesday after Radcliffe allegedly failed to appear in court that day.
Police said the scheduled appearance involved a previous littering charge.
Radcliffe was arrested Thursday on the failure-to-appear warrant.
The department did not provide additional information about the underlying littering allegation or explain why Radcliffe allegedly missed the court proceeding.
Following her arrest, she appeared before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance.
Radcliffe was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center.
Police said she was being held without bond.
The warrant allegation remains subject to further court proceedings.
