SEASIDE PARK, N.J. – The Seaside Park Police Department welcomed its first-ever “Chief of the Day” on Saturday, giving a young resident an opportunity to experience life alongside local first responders.
Chief Sophia began her day with donuts before taking on a full schedule of honorary police duties. Throughout the day, she inspected patrol vehicles and equipment, participated in officer reviews and joined members of the Seaside Park Fire Department for a ride-along.

A day as police chief
The department said Chief Sophia also completed an inspection of a local arcade and games before testing what officers jokingly described as some “suspicious” ice cream during her patrol.
