WOODBURY, N.J. – A Deptford Township woman has been sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay full restitution after pleading guilty to stealing nearly $100,000 from two parent-teacher organizations, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office.
Prosecutors said Tara Webb, 37, was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Renard L. Scott after pleading guilty to third-degree theft by unlawful taking. In addition to five years of probation, Webb must repay $99,378.06 under the terms of her plea agreement.

Theft spanned more than a year
According to court documents and statements made in open court, Webb stole money while serving as treasurer for the Shady Lane and Pine Acres Early Childhood Center Parent Teacher Organizations. Prosecutors said the thefts occurred over the course of more than a year and involved funds from the bank accounts of both organizations.
As part of her sentence, Webb is prohibited from having contact with the victims and may not work in fundraising or fund management for any nonprofit organization during her probation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Narline Casamir.
Investigation led by local authorities
Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office officials also credited the Deptford Township Police Department for its assistance during the investigation that resulted in Webb’s conviction and sentencing.
The sentence resolves the criminal case through a negotiated plea agreement. Defense attorney Robert E. DePersia II represented Webb during the proceedings.
