Elmhurst shop sells the lone top-prize ticket in the statewide drawing

ELMHURST, NY – A lottery ticket bought at an Elmhurst store delivered the only top prize in Tuesday night’s TAKE 5 drawing, with the New York Lottery announcing Friday that the winning ticket was sold on Junction Boulevard.

The ticket matched the numbers needed to win the top prize in the Aug. 25 TAKE 5 Evening drawing and is worth $29,525.

The New York Lottery identified the retailer as Junction Lotto and Stationary, located at 57-01 Junction Blvd. in Elmhurst.

It was the only top-prize winning ticket reported for that evening’s drawing.

TAKE 5 is a New York Lottery draw game in which five numbers are selected from a field of 1 through 39.

Drawings are held twice each day, at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., according to the Lottery.

New York Lottery draw-game prizes can be claimed for up to one year from the date of the drawing.

The New York Lottery reported contributing $3.6 billion during fiscal year 2025-2026 to support public schools across New York state.
