PHILADELPHIA — Two women were found dead inside a North Philadelphia home Sunday afternoon in what investigators are preliminarily treating as a murder-suicide, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
Officers from the 35th District responded to the 1600 block of Conlyn Street around 1:51 p.m. Aug. 30 after a gunshot was reportedly heard inside a residence. Police declared a barricade at the property.
The barricade ended around 2:50 p.m. Officers then located two adult women inside the home. Medics pronounced both dead at the scene around 2:51 p.m.

Police have not released the names of either woman or said how they died. A motive also remains unknown.
The scene was being held as the Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit continued its investigation. Authorities cautioned that the initial information could change as investigators learn more.
