Toms River Halloween parade is back on after 2020 COVID-19 cancellation

TOMS RIVER, NJ – The only thing scarier than election season in Toms River is the town’s annual Halloween parade. In 2020, the parade was canceled, like most other things in New Jersey, due to COVID-19 and state-imposed sanctions against large outdoor gatherings.

The Toms River Fire Company #1 has good news. This year, the parade is back on. The parade will take place on Saturday, October 30th at 7 pm. Historically the parade took place on Halloween, but it has since been moved to the day before.

That means the only double-dipping this year will be at town hall and over at the county offices. Trick-or-treat in Toms River is now Sunday, October 31st, so no more trick-or-treat double-dipping in other towns. It was a tradition of many in and around Toms River for decades to hit two straight nights of trick-or-treating.
