Teen shot and killed in New Castle on Christmas night

NEW CASTLE, DE – On Christmas nigt, at approximately 7:00 p.m. patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Barrett’s Lane in the community of Barrett’s Run for the report of shots being fired.

When the officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old male victim who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. First-Aid was administered, and the victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.

This is an active and ongoing investigation. Additional updates will follow.
