Absecon Police Department Hosts Hook on Fishing, Not Drugs Event for Kids

ABSECON, NJ – It was a beautiful cool afternoon as the Absecon Police Department hosted an annual community event to talk to children about the dangers of drugs and vaping.

On Saturday, June 11th, the Absecon Police Department held its 26th annual Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs event. The event focuses on providing safe and alternative activities to using harmful substances. This year, the participants were educated on the dangers of vaping by Atlantic Prevention Resources.

“The Absecon Police Department would to thank Bass Pro Shops for donating the prizes for our anglers, Wawa for donating lunch and drinks, Galloway Ace Hardware for donating the use of the popcorn machine and ice cream, members of Absecon Public Schools for assisting with the planning and registration of the event and Atlantic Prevention Resources for the demonstration on vaping,” the department said.
