When entering the home, a pit bull charged and attacked one of our deputies,” the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office said after the incident. “A second deputy was forced to discharge his firearm, striking the pit bull while he was attacking the deputy. The bullet traveled through the pit bull, hitting the deputy.”

The deputy was taken to the hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
