Newport News shooting leaves one injured

NEWPORT NEWS, VA- Police in Newport News are investigating a shooting that occurred at an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Jefferson Avenue in the Palmer neighborhood of the city.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 12800 block of Jefferson Avenue overnight. When they arrived, they located an adult male victim with a gunshot wound at an apartment complex in the 100 block of Jefferson Point Lane.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, no arrest have been made. No suspects have been identified.
