Phil Murphy says more states should be like New Jersey
Welcome to New Jersey

TRENTON, NJ – Phil Murphy is apparently stumping for something. It is expected that the New Jersey Governor will run for President in the event that President Joe Biden decides not to run in 2024.

He has been pushing himself on the national stage, but this week, he went toe to toe again with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

After visiting Florida last week to attend the Democrat Governors Association’s annual conference in West Palm Beach, Murphy had one takeaway from his trip to the Sunshine State.

“More states should be like New Jersey, not Florida,” Murphy said.

It’s a hard sell for the governor whose state is losing a large number of residents to Florida and other southern states like Texas, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

New Jersey is one of the top 10 exodus states in America, and many believe it’s because of the policies of Phil Murphy.

Still, that didn’t stop the Governor from making his pitch.

He touted New Jersey first as an abortion safe haven.

“I say this with a heavy heart,” Murphy said. “I’m not happy about this. We’re a patchwork-quilt country. It really matters where you live and where you work, and it didn’t used to be that way. But it is now. It’s thanks to governors; it’s thanks to the Supreme Court. And so Florida, in my humble opinion, is going the wrong way.”

Despite criticisms of New Jersey being one of the highest taxed states, crime is low, education ranks high, healthcare ranks high and Murphy says that’s why New Jersey should be the model state for America.

“I think we’re proving that that model is successful,” Murphy said in a conference room at a hotel in West Palm Beach, Florida.
