PATERSON, NJ – Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and Interim Officer-in-Charge New Jersey State Police (NJSP) Major Frederick Fife announced on Thursday several arrests that led to the recovery of two guns from the community. The arrests were the result of separate incidents that took place in Paterson, with the efforts of detectives and officers working to improve public safety.
In the first incident on April 20, a detective conducting city surveillance near a patrol unit spotted Tysaun Beach walking with a handgun. The other detectives were alerted, searched the area, and found Beach on 12th Avenue, where they arrested him without incident.
Beach was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, a second-degree crime, and other weapons charges.
In an unrelated incident also on April 20, officers patrolling the downtown area near Main St. recognized Cameron Louzan, who was wanted for carjacking and weapons offenses out of North Bergen. Louzan was arrested without incident and transferred to North Bergen Police custody.
On April 21, detectives from the Paterson Police Department’s Cease Fire Unit and members of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office conducted crime suppression efforts in the 4th ward of Paterson. They noticed Davon Bunch holding a handgun and arrested him without incident. Marquan Hinton was also arrested after attempting to flee and dropping a loaded semiautomatic handgun. A juvenile, whose identity is being withheld, was arrested as well.

All three face various weapons charges, including unlawful possession of a weapon, a second-degree crime, and possession of a prohibited device, a fourth-degree crime. Hinton was also charged with resisting arrest.
