The New York State Police in Troop D organized a community engagement meeting at the Martha Eddy Room of the New York State Fairgrounds on Saturday. Representatives from several organizations and institutions, including District Attorney Offices, Colleges and Universities, elected officials, the Armed Forces, faith communities, and renowned organizations such as the NAACP, YMCA, and BOCES, along with State Police officers gathered to discuss ways to establish stronger ties with the communities they serve.
The participants shared ideas and strategies for recruiting highly qualified individuals from all segments of the community. Troop D Commander Major Vincent Lightcap, Captain Jason Place, and Recruitment Captain Ricky Williams led the meeting, which focused on exploring ways to foster better relationships between the New York State Police and the communities they serve.
