Investigation Underway Following Death of 7-Year-Old in Fort Lee

FORT LEE, NJ – An unresponsive 7-year-old child was pronounced deceased after being transported to Hackensack University Medical Center.

On Wednesday at approximately 5:29 p.m., the Fort Lee Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding an unresponsive child at a residential apartment complex on Anderson Avenue.

The child was immediately transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, where the individual was later pronounced dead.

No further details have been released by police.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Fort Lee Police Department are jointly investigating the incident. The investigation is being conducted under the direction of Chief Jason Love of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Chief Matthew Hintze of the Fort Lee Police Department.
