Albemarle Police Identify Possible Suspect in Murder of 20-Year-Old Woman

ALBEMARLE, NC – The Albemarle Police Department is searching for a person of interest in a domestic-related homicide.

On Thursday at approximately 11:58 a.m., officers were called to a home in the 100 block of Carpenter Avenue following reports of gunshots.

They found a deceased female, later identified as McKayla Davis, 20.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Davis had been involved in a domestic incident shortly before gunshots were reported.

The person of interest has been identified as Byron Anthony Beckford Jr., 20.

The case remains under investigation, and no additional details are available at this time.
