LANCASTER, PA – A Lancaster city resident, Carl Hunter, 66, will be prosecuted in Lancaster County Court for the 2009 stabbing death of Michael Evans, 41, at a residence on W. Lemon St.
Hunter, who had an outstanding warrant since 2009, was arrested in the Dominican Republic on September 14, and extradited to Lancaster.
During a preliminary hearing on Monday, Assistant District Attorney Mark Fetterman presented testimonies from first-responding officers and an eyewitness.
The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office confirmed the cause of death as a stab wound to the left chest. The eyewitness identified Hunter, also known as “Low,” from a photo lineup after the incident.
The hearing also revealed that the victim, witness, and defendant were acquainted. An argument at the victim’s home led to the stabbing. Hunter’s formal arraignment is scheduled for October 27 at 9 a.m.
