HARRISBURG, PA – On Thursday, Senior Judge Richard A. Lewis sentenced Thomas Fornwald to three consecutive life terms. Fornwald, 68, was convicted by a jury in April for molesting three children, aged 12 and 13 at the time of the incidents.
During the sentencing, one victim detailed the lasting trauma Fornwald’s actions have inflicted upon her life.
Before handing down the sentence, a sexually violent predatory hearing took place. Supported by expert testimony from a witness of the District Attorney’s Office, Judge Lewis ruled Fornwald as a sexually violent predator.
Given Fornwald’s prior convictions for rape and indecent assault, his current offenses carried mandatory life sentences.
Senior Deputy District Attorney Katie L. Adam represented the prosecution, with Corporal Hilary Faust and Trooper David Humphreys of the Pennsylvania State Police overseeing the investigation.
