D.C. Police Can’t Fetch This Fugitive Dognapper

WASHINGTON, DC – Police are looking for a man accused of stealing a dog after refusing to return it to its owner in Southeast Washington.

The incident occurred in the 3800 block of 9th Street, Southeast, around 6 p.m. Sunday. The suspect was entrusted with the dog by the victim, who, upon return, was coerced to pay for the dog’s release.

The dog, named Rocky Apollo, is a brown Pitbull Terrier Mix.

Authorities have released images of the dog and the suspect.

The Metropolitan Police Department urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity or this case to contact them at (202) 727-9099 or to send a tip via the TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered by Crime Solvers of Washington, DC, for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
