CRANFORD, NJ – Cranford Police reported several arrests from January 1 to January 8, 2024, for offenses including driving while intoxicated, theft, and drug possession.
On January 1, at 5:37 a.m., Rocio Huertas, 41, from Garwood, NJ, was arrested by Patrolman Christopher Gross for driving while intoxicated. The arrest occurred after a 2020 Range Rover hit a utility pole on East South Avenue at East Lincoln Avenue. Huertas received a municipal court date and motor vehicle summonses.
The following day, Carlos Matos, 53, of Port Reading, NJ, was charged with theft by Detective Robert Jordan. Matos allegedly failed to perform contracted residential construction work on Willow Street and did not refund the money.
On January 5, at 7:54 p.m., Stephanie Flores, 38, from Brooklyn, NY, was arrested for possession of crystal methamphetamine by Patrolman Antonio Bellomo on North Avenue near the Garden State Parkway #137 exchange. Flores was stopped for motor vehicle violations and subsequently processed for a Superior Court appearance.
Michael Andrews, 36, of Carteret, NJ, was arrested for shoplifting on January 6 at 8:34 p.m. The incident occurred on the 50 block of South Avenue, and Patrolman Joshua Sousa processed Andrews for a municipal court appearance.
On January 7, at 9:36 p.m., Troy Brown, 30, from Cranford, NJ, was arrested for driving while intoxicated by Patrolman Travis Freeman. Brown was stopped on East South Avenue at East Lincoln Avenue for several motor vehicle violations.
Finally, on January 8 at 3:08 a.m., Mannan Azam, 25, of Roselle, NJ, was arrested by Patrolman Liam Duffy for possession of heroin and outstanding warrants. The arrest took place on Commerce Drive near Myrtle Street after Azam was stopped for a license plate violation.
