Two Arrests Made in Newark Bar Shooting Incident

NEWARK, DE – Delaware State Police have apprehended Jyair Fields, 23, and Mariana Laboy, 47, both from Wilmington, Delaware, following a shooting incident at Rackers Bar and Billiards.

The incident occurred on Saturday, January 13.

At around 8:54 p.m., troopers were called to the bar’s parking lot on Capitol Trail, Newark, due to a fight with shots fired.

Fields reportedly discharged multiple shots into the air following a fight. He and Laboy, along with two teenagers, fled the scene in a white Acura, later stopping at a residence on Red Mill Road where further shots were fired.

Troopers responding to a report of gunfire apprehended Fields and Laboy during a traffic stop. Visible in the car were a handgun and shell casings. Both were charged with multiple offenses and taken into custody without incident.
